New Pornographers @ Barrymore: too damn loud?

Is it just me, or was the NP show at the Barrymore just too damn loud? I was sitting 3/4 of the way toward the back on the main floor, off to one side, and it was so loud I almost couldn't hear the music.

Am I officially too old for rock and roll?

Didn't see it, but I wouldn't doubt it. My ears rang for five days after I saw Social Distortion at the Gothic last year. Earplugs are a must.

And I'm only 21, so you're not necessarily too old.

I left the Foo Fighters show at the Pepsi Center because they sucked and were too loud.
