I don't think it will work very well or at all with a 22LR Not enough recoil to cycle the trigger. I tried it with my TEC-22 and 10-22 didn't work. AK, AR-15, AR-10, Mini-14, SKS, M-14 all work just fine!!

It works great with a Walther P22 and a fake (or real) suppressor. I've seen videos of people doing this with 1911s but I wouldn't try that and I don't even remember how they held it.

As far as safety, I would say the biggest danger is ricochets. If a .223 round hits the hard ground at a nice, shallow angle, it's going to clear your backstop and leave the range. Use a very high backstop and get close to it.

    I watched the video,
    then my dumb-ass read responses.
Thats a negitive, M16 are meant for the government 556 round not the civilian version 223 meant for the AR15's. The 556 has more chamber pressure and firing it from a AR15 can often result in extended wear and very possible damage to the rifle. The M16 Barrel is also rifled at 1:7 (One turn every 7 Inches) the AR's tend to have a slower ratio depending which company you buy from. There are also a couple competition companies that produce a dual 556 and 223 AR ~ USAF

I sure do like BLGC, i've only been once, but it's a really nice range.

Here is an alternative to rubber band bump firing: http://www.slidefiresolutions.com/Product-SSAR-15.html

Something that's ~free versus something that costs $369 isn't really an alternative to me.

That was more for the OP than anyone else . For me, I like to try several different ways of doing things to see which one fits best for my needs.
