    Default Bump-fired my AR yesterday...

for the first time! I think I peed myself.

T'was fun, I think it fired about 8-10 times or so in a big hurry. But definitely something I need to practice a little more, I need to figure out how to hold it tighter. Perhaps a sling across the opposite shoulder holding the rifle up might help?

Um, this isn't a "bad" thing to do, is it? I realize it's pretty dangerous, and next time I'll get right up to the berm to make sure no bullets get away, but it's not illegal is it? Or hard on the rifle?

What drove me to try it was two guys on the next range were firing what sounded like an MG, so I waddled over to have a looky at what was making all the ruckus. Turned out they bf'd a mag through an AR for giggles, so I figgered I'd try. Nice fellers, they left a big pile of shiny new .223 brass too!

As far as I know its not illegal... only one round is fired per one pull of the trigger, the mechanics/function of the gun aren't altered in any way. You're just pulling the trigger really fast.

I prefer the rubber band method, lets you shoulder it and actually aim.

no it is not illegal at all. it if a ton of fun.

with practice you can get pretty accurate and pretty good with it. I love to bump fire my Ak, it has a little slower cyclic rate than an ar, but the ar is a blast too.

just eats up a lot of ammo, but that is what happens when you have fun! keep practicing!

Rubber band method? Can you explain please? Shouldering and aiming sounds mucho better. Firing wildly from the hip ain't my thing.
