I tried posting it in the other thread about a moron pulling a gun, but no one watched it because they thought it was the video for the Aurora thing.
This looks like felony menacing with a deadly weapon to me. Thoughts?

Yes it was. The jerks with the camera were obviously driving reckless to stalk the lead guy. I would call that menacing by the camera people.

I don't think it warranted the use of deadly force though, he only punched him and was driving a car after him at a high rate of speed.

the aggressors are the people chasing the guy down. deadly assault with a several thousand pound vehicle. or at least attempted.

stupid for the guy to pull the gun at that point. If I was getting chased like that i would be on the phone with the cops. if I got pinned in, I would either stay in my vehicle or come out gun drawn.

fuck the animal "activists" who are worried about some pigeons enough to chase them down to get a license plate, then continue following. they are lucky they were not shot and killed for their stupid actions.

For sure the guys following were assholes, but they weren't "deadly assaulting" anyone. Following someone in a car, as they tear ass around town driving like an asshole, isn't even close to assault.

I can't believe a single one of you is on the side of the guy that pulled the gun.

HE STOPPED HIS CAR AND GOT OUT. Why is the concept of "don't voluntarily enter a dangerous situation" so difficult for some people to understand?

Lastly, it looked like he pulled his gun on some dudes only armed with a video camera to me. When the cops do that, people scream and shout, but when some non-cop does it, he's in the right? What the hell?

they were chasing him because he tried to run them over or something, then fled. they were trying to get his license plate.

Without knowing "The Rest of the Story":

I think a good argument could have been made by the gunman, initially, that he was afraid, etc..., because of the actions of the people following him. If I were driving like a complete moron...recklessly and without regard for the safety of others...and someone continued to follow me like that, I'd definitely be concerned. However, that excuse went out the window when he stopped, got out and confronted the activist driver.

I especially liked his tactic of drawing his holstered gun...must be meant to throw off the bad guys or something.

I would've written it as menacing (felony) along with some traffic charges on both.
