It depends...are we talking South Site road or fire road? My WRX is rally-inspired afterall.

    Time of Trainnig
We meet at Pine Junction at 8:00 AM sharp and convoy to the training location at 8:20. We are on the range at 9:00 and train all day until 5-5:30. Once you register you get over communicated to by the cadre. You will always know what is going on with your training date. Some classes have not gotten off until after 6 depending on how much ammo they brought. Basically we want you to shoot it all!

Of course if you bring too much and have left overs, the cadre does offer FREE disposal service. I mean, how can you beat free?

    The Road Conditions
The road changes depending on how Park County maintains it. They grade it a few times per summer but not as much as in the past now that Wellington Lake is closed to the public. We've been coming in from the Bailey side lately because the dirt section is actually shorter. BUT, the washboards can be worse on that route due to having more traffic. Low cars are generally fine. We did have a Corvette that had to stop on the last road in due to a pot hole that he could not get over without bottoming out. But that was 2 years ago. A Honda Civic can get to the range no sweat.

    Gear
For any carbine class, I always recommend a couple things:
    • Gloves- Ivan will argue this one! Russians just train until they bleed. I personally see no reason for bleeding all over your rifle unless you have to!
    • Mag pouches. Go insurgent style and get something that can be donned quickly and carries ALL your gear on one setup. Aviod drop holsters and all that leg bag stuff. It is just an expedient way to spread your gear all over the range faster. An integrated system like a SOC-C belt kit or US Palm Attack Rack are better.
    • Dump Bag- super handy for speed reloads or kit management.
    • Pants with integrated knee pads like 5.11 tactical. Slip on's are fine but you are alwyas jacking with them. Inserts are always better.
    • Long sleeves. You will shoot a lot from various unconventional positions and many hasty prone positions. Why get ground up if you don't have to?
    • Food, water, and snivel gear. We train in all weather and train all day long. Lunch is out of your kit on the range. Training can be physically exerting so you have to stay hydrated.

I went to the website to register, didn't really work out for me- is there a trick or do I have a mental problem?

With the huge cost of gas, I think the folks that are signed up should try to carpool and thus share/reduce gas costs for a driver. I'm in Westminster at 68th and Sheridan. If someone wants to hop in with me, I'd like to share the expense.

Down to the last 2 slots! This is really going to be a fun day.

If anyone is looking for a really good deal on an AK74 then follow this link:
    http://centerfiresystems.com/akagun74.aspx - $399!

I bought one of these 74's last year and think it is great for a training weapon. I shoot it 3 times more than my Arsenal Siaga in 7.62. I put wood furniture on mine in Warsaw length to make it a little faster to mount. Plus I lust like the wood look. It gets a little beat up but that adds character to the rifle.

The 5.45 x 39 ammo is so cheap its sick! Here is a great price for Russian Military ammo:

They also have 7.62 x 39 for a decent price:

Here is a link to help find ammo. Just sort by caliber.
