Its only one small piece of the puzzle, but you can read the mayoral candidates (and council candidates) responses to the Pikes Peak Firearms Coalition questionnaires here

http://www.ppfc.org/elec2011.htm

I tend to see a politicritter's Second Amendment positions as a bit of a litmus test for their political beliefs in general.

For reasons that I don't understand The PPFC is endorsing Bach (when Bahr clearly had the better answers to their questions).

My general feeling about Bach is that he's your typical "traditional" Republican (read: milquetoast) and Bahr is more the "tea party" candidate ... but frankly as long as Skorman doesn't win I don't care which of the other candidates takes it (Skorman and Munger are the liberals in the race ... note that they didn't even respond to the PPFC).

For what its worth I'll be voting for Bahr. Skorman will win the election but with less than 50% +1 of the vote so there will be a runnoff between him and the second place candidate. You can visit Bahr's site and see if you like what he's saying (the "issues" page outlines his positions).

Also I'll be voting for the "Reform Team" for council at large (well except for Ed Bircham ... sorry, but I've had business dealings with him and as such don't trust him in the slightest ... probably wouldn't piss on him if he was on fire). Douglas Bruce is a dick, but he's probably the most pro-constitution, limited government politician to walk the earth since Jefferson.
