Default Few pictures of my AR and a dead animal

I went hunting on some private land that is infested with Prairie dogs and Coyotes. Saw 1 coyote in the distance, but saw a ton of prairie dogs. The land is 100% private, and I have two 1000 acre parcels to hunt and shoot on so its pretty sweet.

My AR: Had about 100 rounds through it today. It was dirty and dusty out due to the wind. The gun was caked in dirt. I wiped it down before this photo was taken. I shouldnt have...lol.

My AR and one of my M&P9's.

Nothin' but "good" in that post! Glad to hear you had a great day of shootin' in what sounds like a great area.

So did anyone manage to determine the cause of death for that poor critter? I suspect maybe lead poisoning?

yeah... I think we could alleviate the infestation in very short order should you decide to bring some of us along.

So now that Deus isnt coming with me on friday who wants to come out and hunt some prairie dogs?

The land and property shape is very interesting. Sadly its not a square, its more of an L shape which doesnt lend itself to higher powered rifles, and or lots of shooters. I would have to seek approval before taking anyone out with me. Friday is the first time I am taking someone out there, Deus that jerk, so we will see how it goes and how the land reacts. One plot of land is in Brush and the other Seibert.

The story behind the prairie dog is awesome. They are in a valley so I parked out of view and walked on down to give a look around. I see this guy about 50 yards out so I slide on my belly doing an army crawl to the edge of a water ravine about 30 yards out. I wanted to test my luck so I slid closer to the next water ditch which put him about 15 yards away. I crawled up just to the crown of the ditch and spotted him with his head sticking out of the ditch. I readied my rifle and sat motionless for 27 minutes according to my watch. It was a "who was going to make the first mistake" face off. I was basically waiting for him to show more of his body. He moved out and I took the shot. I win.

The new optic is holding together nicely. It even held zero after hauling arse around on an ATV and getting bounced around everywhere!
