    Default Speedfeed I for shotgun

I'm looking at replacing the stock on my 500A with a Speedfeed I. Anyone here have any experience with these? Is it fairly easy to get a shell out of the stock while the gun is shouldered? Is it more practical to go with a side saddle? I plan to use the gun for patol in the future and like the idea of having 4 slugs readily available without the extra bulk of a side saddle.
    Thanks

I have one on my 870. I really don't try and reload it from the stock part, I use the side saddle first. I just use it to carry more ammo on the weapon. the speed feed is not too fast into action, but it is a good stock IMO

    Default speedfeed

I have a speedfeed IV tactical model just because my length of pull is about 13 inches, and that model fits me well. My model doesn't have the loading tube. It has been a great stock, feels solid, and fits me better than the original wood on my 870 express. There is always the risk that you could look like a mall ninja though.

The one I added to a loaner gun was too long for my taste, and I'm 6' 1". The feeding out of the stock is a little tricky, but you can get used to it.

I still much prefer to load out of a side saddle, but loading buckshot on the side & slugs in the stock might be a good option for you.

For my personal shotgun, I'll stick with a shorter stock & a side saddle.

Pop off a few rounds from the left shoulder and see what your cheek feels like.

I primarily shoot left handed & while the SF doesn't have the most comfortable cheek weld, it was tolerable for about a box of shells.

    Default M590A1 speed feed

I like the speed feed really for only one reason, 4 extra shells. which we all know can be a life saver in drills or competitions due to the limited, bulky ammo and where to carry it as well as reloading. 8+1 m590A1 with a side saddle and speed feed offers 19 rounds of 12ga on the weapon alone!!!!! but its one heavy bitch if you dont mind luggin it around. so i like it for that.
