Default Don't Bark at Police Dogs!

"Cops: Ohio man charged after barking at police dog"

I'm not going to bash the LEO's here. It sounds like the guy was totally drunk and arresting him probably did him a favor. It gave him a place to sleep it off rather than wandering around and getting into more trouble. I'd love to see him explaining this to the judge.

Heard about this on the heels of the story of the lady with the Pitbull that bit a police officer. Pit didn't bite anyone.

What would you charge this guy with? Disturbing the Police? I mean Peace?

    Is barking considered protected speech?

If he was disturbing the dog during the traffic stop could he have been interfering with the officer's ability to do his job?

The dog is a member of the police force and a police officer. They even have a badge and everything. Messing with one is like messing with a human officer. You will lose, except have a few puncture wounds to prove it.
