Default gunsmiths, lend me your ear

So, my wife has a Browning 525 12ga shotgun.
we had it cut to fit her (like a 13.5LOP) and it's got 32" barrels (although we had the stock weighted to keep the balance correct)
Now she wants to get rid of it and it's really almost unsellable like this.

We were thinking of putting one of those adjustable buttstocks on the rear of it (so we could sell to anyone and it would be a good sporting clays gun for a bigger person (who probably needs a longer LOP)

    so

    a. good idea? bad idea?
    b. suggestions for other fixes?

    thanks

I would find another factory stock on Gunbroker, Numrich or similar.
I think most potential purchasers would rather see the gun stock and not modded.

Either bone stock or radically modded with some tacticool skeet garb.

I would try to market it to a person similar to your wife as a beginner gun maybe and if that aint gonna work the back close to original.

Just like anything else that is tweaked/modded to suit the owners taste and you try to sell it. It may take a considerable amount of time for the right person to come by that is willing to pay the premium price for "just the right one".
Stock will sell faster-modded will bring a higher price.

    ok
    bone stock isn't an option
    that's long gone.
it's cut and fit to her with a very short length of pull.

so it's either as is (very short left handed) or with an adjustable LOP thing on the back. (so it's just a lefty)

That is why I suggested trying to find a factory replacement stock. I would like to take a look at this Brian. I have a couple of adjustable buttplates that may fly.......

Way I see it, you can advertise it in local shotgun competition shooting crowd in it's current condition and see if you get a hit. Barrels a little long for skeet and some of the other sports, but would work well in trap and most of the competition shooters hunt. Sounds like a nice goose gun for a lady shooter. That's the crowd I would get the word out too.

If it doesn't sell, then I would think try the factory replacement stock would be more desireable to a potential buyer than the adjustable stock. I know, I know... shooting difference is minimal, but the shotgun crowd can be uber-fickle about how their gun looks.
Mom's comin' 'round to put it back the way it ought to be.
