I have a pretty good track record for finding things like this when they shoot loose inside my living room. The garage on the other hand.... well, I am still looking for a spring and a needle for my airbrush.

A little kink in a spring will cure that problem.

Thanks for the offers, after looking around for 20 min I found the spring in my living room and the detent itself had somehow ricocheted off of a couple things and bounced onto my couch.

I just open a coil partway in the mid-span of the spring. It doesnt kink it and put a weak spot in it. Just pinch the spring near the middle and untwist it a touch.

Pshaw, I just weld it in there. Never can be TOO secure.
