    Default Speaking Of The Classifieds....

....Why is the caliber of people so much higher here than on Colorado Gun Market. My membership there is due and I don't know if I'm going to keep it. I'm not sure I need to because I do just fine here. I'm not saying I haven't had some good deals and met some good people there but sometimes it's like dealing with people on Graigs List. I think it may have something to do with the fact that we have the ability to respond and to keep each other in check. That fact in itself could just weed out the bad apples.

I think there is also a sense of entitlement there.
"I PAID, So I have the right to..."

Here we keep each other in check.

i know i prefer this site over the other one , but i still look at the deals from time to time . but your feelings are correct (or at least i think so ), the people here are of a higher caliber and with way less fuss . Also i feel compelled to bring a gun in the truck when i meet folks from that site and do no such thing when i meet people from this one. Also we seem to have really good mods or maybe its the running forum that helps weed out the bad apples out .

I love it here. We keep each other in check and get along pretty well even with the occasional outbursts!
Cogunmarket is simply to sell. I like that as well. Nothing other than a way to sell your stuff and much cheaper than gunbroker or amy other auction site. Plus your money goes to a good cause and good use.
All I have in this world is my balls and my word and I don't break em for no one.

I am a member there, but have never used the site.
At least, that is what my post count reflects.........now.
    That's OK.

No one can comment about the sellers who DEMAND a BOS.
I know....that happens here, but not as much.

I'm a member there as well (many people here are), but not just for the classifieds - I feel that the RMGO does provide us with a valuable advocate for gun owners rights. That being said, I too would prefer to deal with the members of this board. I have a feeling that the caliber of people here is better for the following reasons:

    1) The community and moderators will set people straight on this board.
    2) The feedback area is available here for us to see what experiences others have had with a particular person, and since we all seem to be good at leaving feedback, it helps to keep people in check as well.
    3) The members here don't seem to be here just for the classifieds section. While some of us may not post as much as others, we do still value the information we get here, and (as for myself) we will contribute if we have something to add to a conversation that may not have been stated previously.

Just my $.02 on the subject.

I don't know that it's a matter of keeping anybody in "Check", other than a few that I've seen on this board, everyone is just top notch. It all comes down to integrity, if you have a high level of integrity, you don't need anybody to keep you in "Check".

"if you don't have integrity, you don't have squat"

People get to CGM by googling "buy/sell guns in CO."
People get to COAR by googling "CO based shooting organization."

    Different crowd.

Agreed. By saying that we can keep people in "check", I guess I was referring to those that are affected by such things I listed. I used to work for someone that had a saying that "Out of ten people, one is as honest as the day is long, one will do everything they can to steal you blind, and the other eight are as honest as the expectations set for them require." I would personally like to be more optimistic than that, but there seems to be a lack of accountability with people any more, and it also seems that people have not been raised by the same standards and expectations that many of us here have been (everyone that I have made deals with on this forum has come across to me as genuinely being "stand up").

I couldn't agree more - wish I would have said that in my first response as it would have saved some typing.
