Default Hammer and trigger pin creep?

I have a built lower that has never been attached to an upper and just dry firing/ catching the hammer with my hand the hammer and trigger pins are creeping to the left. I have not let it creep fully to see how far it will go.
Is this just because it is new and not broken in yet? Or do i need to invest in non rotating pins?

the LPK is Daniel Defense and was assembled per arf.coms instructions

Are the hammer springs sitting on top of the pins and does one of the "legs" of the springs sit in the crease of the pin?

    Some thing seems off here.

Any chance you can snap a good pic of it so we can see it?

What Spliefy said-make sure that the hammer spring is engaging the groove in the pin. Also make sure that the detent spring in the hammer is engaging the pin correctly.
Typically if they are both walking out the same side of the receiver it can be an indicator of an out of spec lower.

The hammer spring is on top of the pin. I have not shot it yet so I do jot know how far they will move. The lower is a dpms and the hammer pin moves the most but the trigger pin does move a little.

I am going to have Rob from Bowers look at it on Tuesday.

i have seen pins that do not have dep enough detent in them to kep the spring leg in place and it walks it out of the detent. You could file the detent deeper or try another pin to see if that works. Also look at where the detent lines up in relation to the inside wall of the receiver. If the receiver is slightly, it may be covering the detent. Also try turning the pin end for end and see if that helps.

So aquired an upper and took it shooting on tuesday put 250 rounds thru it and the pins moved the normal amount that i noticed and stopped did not go any farther....

took it to Rob at bowers today he glanced at it while replacing the gas rings and extractor on the BCG from the used upper and noticed right off the bat the entire DPMS lower is machined off center. right side of the entire thing is thicker than the left by a good 1/16th of an inch I am going to measure exactly at work tomorrow.

Damn, that is not a good thing. I wonder if this was a problem that they had or if it was just a one off. Either way not good.

Good luck with getting it fixed up

Sending off an email to them shortly. Rob was saying that it should not be a problem but i am slightly obsessive about things i know are obviously flawed. either way this AR is becoming a truck gun and I am going to build another!

One of my lowers is a DPMS also so after seeing this I got paranoid and had to go look at it, mine is fine.

Stupid question but I have to at least mention it. On the right side of the lower there is a raised profile line on it, thats not what you are seeing, is it?
