Ya when I called DOW on my tag, He asked me how long I have been putting in? I said 8 years, I'm not showing any pref. points, he said. I got pissed!

He said wait a min. the only reason you would not have them pause pause is if pause you got it? pause, And you DID!! Hey Joe I 'm talking to someone that got his Moose tag!! No SHIT I hear in the back ground. He said that they only issued 70 Moose tags in CO. that season. I think 30 were Bulls and 40 were cows. He said they had like 72,000 aps come through. You just won the LOTTERY he said!

The story get better, but I have to hit the sack right now, I'll catch up tomorrow!! The Moose Charged me!!

i have put in for 4 years, this year will be the 5th. hoping to draw someday!

also putting in for bighorn and mountain goat for the same time. I think they take quite a bit longer though.

i can't wait to go moose hunting! monster of an animal!

sorry you are all out! I haven't had moose, but I sure love my elk meat. I have plenty of that, deer, antelope, and lots of pheasant still.

I probably will never get a tag in Colorado. I have never gotten one for anything not sure what I am doing wrong. I will just go and buy left over tags at walmart. Funny thing is I get the tag at walmart for what I was trying to draw. As for moose I will go to Alaska for that and ship that meat home. It will end up being easer for me I think. Cost a heck of a lot more but man is it going to be fun!

out of state fees for AK moose tag are $$

it works out to more that $1 per pound added, on top of travel & guide costs...

but if you think Moose in CO are big... I've been within 100yrds of bulls you could park a VW bug under... they are friggin HUGE... never hunted moose when I lived there (left when I was 18), but they were common & massive.

just bring something to protect yourself from grizz.. they're HUGE, too.

I've been intimidated by Moose I've seen in person, but nearly wet my pants the first time I was that close to a wild Grizzly... I was about 50ft from the shotgun when it happened, and he was about 100yrds, but wasn't sure I could make it...

have never seen a grizzly in the wild but
the girl I worked with in the forest service decided it would be a good idea to take pictures of a calf and momma she barely made it back to the truck. and we had to explain why the brand new pickup had multiple hoof prints on the hood it was a fun day.

yeah, the moose in AK are big enough to be >VERY< dangerous- I remember the last Idtitarod when I lived there- one musher lost 4-5 dogs to a Moose encounter...

they don't just kick backwards, they kick sideways, and forwards... and NEVER, EVER get between a cow and her calf... I'd rather face a grizzly.

Hell hath no fury like a mother scorned... (or something like that)

oh, and DSB- I'm both sympathetic & jealous at the same time, it's been much longer since I enjoyed Moose meat... my fave, even better than buffalo

Got a cow way back, still waiting on my bull tag. They will issue over 108 this year and areas expanded.
Family got a cow 2 years ago meat finally gone from that.

I have seen one moose in the wild and that was about 50 miles east of Labarge, Wy in the Green River eating on some water veggies.
They are fucking huge and always wanted to try moose meat.

Is it as tasty as elk or venison?
