    Default EDM vs CheyTac?

Anybody have first hand experience with one/both of these?

    Here's what I know...

    EDM/THOR XM408:
-Significantly cheaper than M200, can buy EDM rifle and caliber conversion kit for the cost of an M200.
-Can get conversion kits for .50BMG and .338LM, and kits for the EDM are cheaper than CheyTac's.
-EDM recently introduced a new bipod/barrel shroud similar to CheyTac's, so the better CheyTac bipod is no longer a valid point.
-EDM is easier to break down (although I think that was due to the bipod, so that may be a moot point).
-Lighter than M200 (also could be do to lack of a barrel shroud for the old bipod, so...)
-Great customer service... heard lots of good things about EDM customer service, lots of bad things about CheyTac's.

    CheyTac M200:
-Less fine-tuning needed to get consistent groupings (so I've heard, could be BS).
-Can get conversion kit for .50BMG and .375 CheyTac, which I'd prefer over .338.
-Comes with the barrel shroud/bipod system, don't need to pay extra for it.
-Barrel made by a higher quality manufacturer.

Both have basically the same barrel (30" and 29", 1:13) and I'm under the impression that they have identical or very similar actions as the M200 was built off the XM408 and EDM manufactured the first M200s for CheyTac... I think.

Anything I'm missing? Am I wrong about anything here? What are your opinions?

Last I heard, Cheytac was bankrupt or gone. No response to emails, no phone.

    Hmm, good to know.
I'm leaning towards the EDM anyway.

I have an original Cheytac m200 made by EDM. Cheytac is history. BUT becker who made the guns for Cheytac (after the split with EDM) still has some guns at a good price. I can get you in touch with him. He is a great guy and will help you out. If you get an EDM gun you can have RND do a tube conversion (way better than the EDM tube) and make it like a Cheytac gun only better. These guns are a real commitment. They are very expensive to shoot. Another option is to get a single shot 375/408. Its lighter and has better ballistics. Here are a few videos of my gun and how to convert it to a different caliber.
