    This fire season is going to be a rough one. I hope it turns out to be not as bad as we all seem to be predicting, but the snowfall from winter is way way down and I dont see the rains helping much.

    I for one am bringing a couple fire extinguishers and 15 gallons of water in 5 gallon jugs when I go to the mountains to shoot just in case. Im just firing FMJ and I dont even own tracers, but I wanna be somewhat prepared in event something happens.

    I think Im more concerned with the catalidic converter starting a brush fire then a hot gun or rounds hitting rocks and creating sparks.

    Drove by last night on the commute up 285, lot of activity. I'm quite a few miles south and west of the burn site but...yeah...my awareness level is "up" and I'm tracking status.

    Was coming up the mtn. first fire was before Indian Hills turn, had just started.
    Came around turn and the field was on fire at
    Myers. 2 trucks (citizens) were already there very small like 10x20.
    Passed alot of USFS fire trucks coming from way off.

    Kinda hard to believe it takes a whole box of matches or a lighter to make a camp fire but a spark from a chain supposedly lit these.

    we are about 13 miles further up the hill. thankfully. feel sorry for those people affected by it. the Hayman burned up to the back of my neighborhood a few years ago.

    i haven't driven down to see the damage yet, the Meyer ranch is a beautiful piece of land.

    we had lots of rain last season, plenty of fuel on the forest floor at the moment.
