    Default OPS416 build

So i took the plunge and upgraded an ar to an ops-416 build with some MOE hardware and an ergo grip...Parts list:
    Tools:
    Some punches
An ak-47 cleaning rod (for the receiver bushing)
    Nail punch
    Hammer

    Parts List (all from brownells)
    Magpul MOE stock
    Magpul MOE handgaurds
    Ergo Grip
    OPS-416 kit
    Burris AR332

    So here's the before pics

    It's a standard M4 upper:

    So here's how it went...

The install took a little a little bit longer than 5 minutes...

oh oh, the moe's need a little material removed...

    after...

    with the piston extended...

    with the piston closed...

    Perfection...

the hardest part of the install was getting the piston bushing in. The video said to use a cleaning rod, but all of mine didn't fit. I had an old ak one sitting around and guess what, it worked perfect!!!!

Here's the updated pic with optics. Now just need to get my foregrip...

I have an OPs416 on my Stag carbine and love it. The only think I find lacking, are rails that will fit.

Default Finally, out to the range and a report back...

    OPS-416 + 200rds on 2 different ops-416 rigs and 0 problems.

    Here's the pros:
    kiss principle
    works
    easy to install, and fast!
    heavy duty bc
no wear on the lower or buffer tube

    Cons:
a little wear on the charging handle from the bc

What other info that's to learn from:
    - FYI, if you want a rail, install the midwest ind. 20P floating rail (1 is on other gun, easy to install if you can find it)
    - install the pws fsc556 brake on all ops416 guns (that is on the MI OPS-416 build and it's AWESOME!!!)
    - try the 20" ops-416 piston on a varmint rig.
    - buy the anti tilt buffer from http://firearmreadysolutions.com/ to prevent any possibility from buffer tilt.

all in all, i think this is a better setup and cheaper than a scar or bushmaster acr.
