Call the Shootist near S Santa Fe and Hampden. They have about 20 guns to rent and I know that they have at least one HK and at least one Sig that you could check out. Not sure of the specific models, but I'm sure they'd be glad to tell you over the phone.

Well I stopped in over at BluCore today and got in some time with 3 of the 4 guns on my short list.
Just wasnt feeling the M&P. Maybe since it was the compact version but I just didn't could dial it in.
I was pleasantly surprised with the XDM. Its comfortable, easy to shoot, and overall is a great value for money.
Finally was the SIG 226, which honestly I almost didn't shoot since I didn't like the feel of it in my hands. It's larger then what I thought it would be. I held a 229 earlier and liked the feel and size but they didnt have one of those for rent so I went with the 226.
It took some getting used to. The double action makes for a very long pull. Once I got the feel of the trigger down it was game over. Great gun no questions asked. If the 229 shoots anything like the 226 I think I found my purchase.
That said I still like the XDM. Who knows. Maybe I'll just buy both.
Buy both...
