    Default Sword fightin'

Ya' know...I'm not interested in getting hit with any type of stick or stabbed with anything sharp but...but for some reason this just across as a "pussy-fest" at first blush.

    Cricket bats...small swords...and a temple...sounds like a bad SitCom.

Sikhs openly carry swords as part of their religion, and they train with them. They also carry large knives, small knives, chakrum, and sometimes handguns.

This may put a damper on their "right" to carry their daggers in schools?

I was kind of shocked at seeing this story as Sikhism is a very peaceful religion. The interesting thing is the reason for the fight in the first place - expanding the temple membership. Can you imagine anyone at your local church being opposed to EXPANDING membership?

I think I would rather not be hit with a cricket bat.

Law 6 of the Laws of Cricket,[2] as the rules of the game are known, limit the size of the bat to not more than 38 in (965 mm) long and the blade may not be more than 4.25 in (108 mm) wide. Bats typically weigh from 2 lb 8 oz to 3 lb (1.1 to 1.4 kg) though there is no standard. The handle is usually covered with a rubber or cloth sleeve to enhance grip and the face of the bat may have a protective film. Appendix E of the Laws of Cricket set out more precise specifications.[3] Modern bats are usually machine made, however a few specialists (6 in England and 2 in Australia) still make hand-made bats, mostly for professional players.

ignorance. Ever found a liberal that you can have a discussion with?

They might be personally peaceful but I believe many Sikh's served with distinction in the British army so they aren't necessarily pacifists.

This might also go to one of the religious debates in India. Many believe or used to believe that you could only be born into their religion, you could not convert. Of course in the '60's some Swami's discovered there was a lot of money in converts.

This sounds more like a loud argument with knives being waved rather than used since no injuries were reported.
