Default First timer. Getting ready to make my first purchase.

Good afternoon all. Stumbled across this little world here looking for more information about BluCore range. I live right around the corner from them so I stopped in last week.

Having no knowledge of the previous owners or reputation I was very pleased with my visit. I haven't fired a gun in probably 20 years and that wasn't the purpose of my visit. Both guys were very friendly and willing to talk. Im looking forward to some range time soon.

But first I need something to shoot. I went by a local store and held a few different weapons and I found the XDM the most comfortable one in the bunch (didn't like the feel of any of the Glocks)

But to my point. I really want to see/hold a Sig 226 and H&K USP. I'm not scared by the price bump to go to a nicer gun but it would be nice find someone close to me that carries both for a side by side comparison.

I live on the west side of town, literally around the corner from BluCore. Anyone know of a shop that carries both?

Thanks. I look forward to learning all sorts of good things here.

Check out Green Mountain Guns. They're just off of Wadsworth and Hampden. Good selection and pretty decent prices.

Not necessarily true. Yes, they are more expensive, but I haven't found the USP nor the P226 more reliable, more accurate, nor would I consider either better in comparison to the XD, Glock, or many other mass produced pistols. What matters is the way they feel to the shooter and how well the shooter can shoot it.

I'll be the first to attest that there is a quantitative price range/quality range difference in firearms. Hell, I have a thread on there somewhere talking about this issue. But, for the most part, the price difference you are talking about here are pistols all within the same category IMO. You are going to want to check out the S&W M&P too based on your selected pistols. Best place for this type of comparison is a range that rents these pistols so you can shoot them. The Sigs feel great with I hold them, but I really dislike how it feels when I shoot it.
Mom's comin' 'round to put it back the way it ought to be.

Thanks for the advice. BC range allows multiple guns under one rental period so I'm going to try a few once they are fully up and running.

That said I may even heard over tomorrow on my day off and spend some time with the XDM since I know they have that on hand. I've got the bug bad right now. Need to scratch the itch.

    Welcome aboard, glad your here.

I will echo what SAfriday said, check out the M&P's great platform IMO, I love mine. Shooting a firearm is the best but if you can not find one to shoot and at least want to see how it feels(I hate to say this) check out Bass Pro shop. While they are usually WAY over priced, and I would NEVER recommend you actually purchase a firearm there, they do have a descent selection and you can at least hold the weapon you want.

    Good luck
