I personally never had any doubt that Obama was born here. I met people who thought otherwise but for me, and others I don't think there was any doubt..

lol Bush was called a moron not because of his grades, his use of Bushisms is why people called him dumb.

"I'm telling you there's an enemy that would like to attack America, Americans, again. There just is. That's the reality of the world. And I wish him all the very best." --George W. Bush, Washington, D.C., Jan. 12, 2009

I guess it's OK to call the secretary of education here 'buddy.' That means friend." --George W. Bush, Philadelphia, Jan. 8, 2009

"People say, well, do you ever hear any other voices other than, like, a few people? Of course I do." --George W. Bush, Washington, D.C., Dec. 18, 2008

I don't wanna argue this, it's a mute point now. I wasn't defending Obama, or bashing Bush. I was simply saying, with wars going on I was suprised this is such a big deal. Esp after he has been in office for two years. Seems silly to me

I never bought into Obama being born elsewhere, however, when he decided to run for the public office of President of the United States, and being a law grad, he should surely know that proving his natural born citizenship could come up, and by accepting to run for office, he accepted that he may have to show his birth certificate to prove it to the public. He works for us, not the other way around. We have a right to question his birthplace, especially when he refused to let us see the birth certificate. If he wanted privacy, he should of took a job at a factory, not a public office.
I know we have alot of issues in this country now of utmost importance, but one thing that cant be argued is, if the guy in the whitehouse won't respect a simple rule that's been in the constitution for over 200 years, how can we expect him to honor anything else, like leaving office if he is voted out? If we cant follow the most basic of laws setforth by our forefathers, we have already failed. Saving the country not only entails fixing the debt, the economy, and our selves, it means following the laws, without which we have anarchy. And blatant disregard for the laws is what ushers in the dictators, etc.

    reminds me of dan rather.

wanted to go down in history as a reporter that took down the president, be mentioned in the same breath as woodward and bernstein.

instead got to enjoy a timely retirement because his paper was bogus.

It should be noted, for the sake of facts, that the certificate released initially, issued by the state of Hawaii, is sufficient legal proof of residence. With that you can get a passport, join the army, get a drivers license, be President.

The reason people didn't believe it was because HI had changed the way it handles these records, and they wanted to see a document issued in the 60's at the time of birth.

That was released now, but just like the Moon landing, won't convince the die hards, be they conspiracy theorists, die hard racists, or just a little light in the loafers. At this point, that contingent should be reduced enough that it's no longer a plank in any GOP candidates platform. Hopefully.

Actually that's the root of the original argument. A "Certificate of live birth" like the one originally released is NOT enough to get a passport or joint the army or get a drivers license (ostensibly that also meant not good enough to be President).

I didn't realize that the gays were birthers.

It never was a plank in the platform of any serious GOP candidate (no Trump ain't serious)

You don't want to defend Obama or trash Bush, yet that is exactly what you are doing. If you want to talk about the economy, I'd love to hear that...but I'm not familiar with the econemy of which you speak. And you're making references to someone else being stupid?
