    Default Introduction

I wanted to finally do this part of the signing up.

I recently got back in to shooting handguns. I grew up in Oregon on tons of property so guns were just a part of life. Started shooting my dad's ruger mark 2 in about 1981 as a 8 year old. I got my "very own" 20 guage Mossberg for my 12th birthday. After college (1996)sold off all my firearms except for a Sigma 9mm and a Mossberg 12ga 18" barrel with pistol grip. I sold AK's AR's hunting rifles pistols etc etc to fund moving to Las Vegas to start my proffesional career.

5 years ago I moved to Colorado and began doing "outdoors" things again that werent possible in Vegas....Camping , Fly Fishing, Hiking.

My wife is fairly pissed since I went from zero fly rods to 9 in one year , and now she says "whats with the new obsession with guns?" New I say, it is an old obsession it just took a 12 year break.

I live in Longmont area and fly fish the Big Thompson, Poudre, North Platte and Rocky mt park alot. I work from home as an area sales mgr for a fortune 200 company and I cover 10 western states. Needless to say I am on a plane alot but when home I do enjoy hiking, camping and fishing.

In the last 3 months I have reaquired some guns and got my CCW. Now the safe isnt so empty.

    Inventory so far
    M&P 9C for CCW
Glock 23 with Viridian X5l for home defense and in the travel trailer when I camp.
Sig P238 with laser for pocket carry and wife to use
    Taurus Tracker 44mag for backcountry
Ruger Markiii 22/45 in 5.5" stainless (shhh that ones a secret)
Father just gave me a "early inheritance" Colt King Cobra 6" stainless 357mag he bought new in 1984 and has never been fired. Probably wont be shot anytime soon either.

Looking to add a M&P full size 9 or 40 and or a Glock 17/22 sometime down the road

Anyway that is me the tactically padded fly fisher with a bulge under his right armpit and fly vest looking stressed as can be.

    Welcome to the site.

I had to give up a couple of different hobbies before my wife *let* me start pursuing my gun interests. Gotta love 'em.

Hahaha to funny, I used to teach golf and was a custom club fitter so needless to say I had and boughts thousands of dollars worth of golf clubs. I justify fly rods and guns that way.

I gave up golf once I realized I cant take the phone or blackberry in the river fly fishing therefore cant be gotten ahold of, and I cant hear it ring in the gun range.

Maybe, I would like to have one again. that might have to wait til the stepkids are on their way to college (13 and 16 now)

My borther in law asked if I was getting one and my wife gave me the stink eye.

I think I will have to start with a mini 14 or some other non black gun and ease in to it. For me it isnt the cost of the rifle it is the ammo. In 1989-93 when I had 2 AK's and a AR I could order 1440 round cases of 7.62 or .223 from shotgun news for around $100 each....those days are long gone
