You, or we all need to be careful of the CL bunch. I had a Honda 3 wheeler for sale or trade last summer. The 1st email I got about it the guy wanted it no questions asked. I gave him my address to come get it. Right on time here he comes. He looked it over for a while and decided he didn't want it. Ok. Next in line right? The guy left and I made a quick run to King Soopers. When I got back home I noticed his truck parked down at the end of the block. I also saw that the gate beside my garage was opened. Sure didn't feel right. Well this is the 1st time I have ever pulled my 1911 and went to the back yard. Sure as shit he was trying to start the Honda. With the 45 in one hand and my cell phone in the other I was able to convince him to stick around until the local yokels got here and offered him 3 hots and a cot. Now no matter what I sell I never give my address out. I always meet half way and do my selling and buying.

No problem, it goes along with the intent of the thread. It is just pretty funny/crazy/stupid.

If he had purchased it and then used the pics, it wouldn't be a big deal either... CL has been getting worse, but it reaches a wide group. I know if I am going to use it, to expect some BS.

Thanks for all of your support on my mini rant. This is a great group!

*I never use my regular email address, i have one for CL.
*I never use my real phone number or give it out, i use google voice.
*I never meet at my house, i always meet in a public place (gas station close to my house) so if they flake (alot of people flake on CL) i'm not wasting my time to drive 1/2 way.
*I always carry... I do that anyways...

I only deal in cash. I don't mind giving my address if I talk to them on the phone and if they are coming right away. Other than that I don't give out much info.

Sounds like the guy wanting yours is jumping the gun a bit.

All of this plus never agreeing to ship anything, period. I also won't deal with anyone out of state.

But.... I'll mail you a cashiers check and will include an extra $100 for your effort and trouble. I'll have my cousin who is passing through your town stop by and pick it up.

Nice! You are so kind!.... I went as far as to buy a currency checker pen.. although not 100% fool proof, it would help a bit...

He's not answering emails so he is either on this site and knows I am screwing with him or his multiple adds being flagged scared him...
