Try and mimic the cut above the kydex. Don't just do a hole/square.

ooops did the square, if it snags I will trim a countour like original design.

So far so good, 6 quick draws and no snags or mag pop. I will practice and if I notice snagging or mag releasing I will follow your advice and cut the contour.

Thanks tons for the input, I knew someone here would know

PS I added the soft side of velcro to the inside of the holster where the slide would rub in efforts to minimize that too, hoping both mods make this sweet holster sweeter.

quick update....glad I asked for your help

Cut the 1/4" by 1/2" square over the mag release button. 20 practice draws and no snags or hang ups going in or out. Just droveto the store and back, no mag release either time I got out of the car I checked.

didnt even get the anticipated skin pinch in the new cutout.....

Now I just need a M&P40 to rotate in an out of this holster too

Interesting. I run the full size M&P 45 with a Liberty holster and have never had an issue. I will have to keep an eye on this.

My M&P 40c used to do this when I had a nylon IWB holster. I picked up an MTAC Spartan and it hasn't been a problem since.

I think my love handles were the root cause. If I ever loose the 30lbs I found after getting married I will do some before and after testing.

I want to order one of Dain's for my Glock 23, after I get that one I will obviously report back

Yeah, I can relate with the whole "love handle weight gain after marriage" thing too. I'm up almost 50 lbs...damn I got fat

Man, sorry I just saw this post! I've seen Glocks do this, and Sigs are really good at it, but I hadn't seen an M&P do it. If you have ANY issues with how it carries or draws after this mod let me know so we can fix it. And if you want the cut smoothed out and trimmed up let me know and we'll get that going. Sorry I didn't see this earlier and glad you didn't have a golf grip experience

Thanks for thefollow up Dain, I appreciate it.

Another reason why everyone should look at buying one of these and supporting the local guy. Great product and even better service.

I hope everyone that runs across this thread truly understands how satisfied I am with my purchase and will be buying more.
