Thread: Where To Look??

    Default Where To Look??

My wife gave me the okay to spend a little dough for my birthday. I'm thinking about an AK47. I have never owned one at all. I have the day off tomorrow. Where should I go look for a new or used one in the Denver area. She gave me the okay to spend $500. Can I get one for that? I have a little "Momma Don't Know Money" I could add for the right one. I have never even shot an AK47. I keep trying AR15's, Mini 14's, SKS"s and they never fit the bill. Any help or advice at all would be appreciated.

    Thanks Bryan

What's the best bang for the buck. Like I said, I have zero experience with AK47's.

Are you interested in a standard stock, underfolder, side folder? I think the Norinco's are one of the best bang for the buck if you can find one. They have a 1.5mm Receiver and one of the best trigger groups being a double hook trigger in an entry level AK. You can still find some good deals on the yugo M70 underfolders which are overbuilt. Only disadvantage is no chrome lined barrel. Classic arms also has a good deal on a Polish milled AK too!

if you are new to AK's (IMHO) i suggest you stay away from anything except a standard butt stock version. the folders have a cool factor but can be a negative to some who are use to the Ar cheek weld.
buy a lower end one to see if you like them. OR blow the wad on something fancier. they still shoot and hit the target the same.

You should check out Linx310's Romanina AK page. He has a bunch of tutorials one of which is how to fix that trigger slap.
