Default Another "help fix my computer" thread!

So anytime I try to download something, I get a pop up box telling me "Error 1500, another program is still running and needs to finish before this download can start, complete, or something."

Usually I can just google search stuff like this, but I have no idea where to start. I'm going to google right after I post up this thread, so I'll keep everyone updated.

Rig is a Dell Inspiron 1525 with Windows Vista Basic.

Any one run into anything like this before?

Yes, but I couldn't do it through the Programs utility. I basically just followed what it said to do in this link:

    http://askville.amazon.com/Error-150...uestId=4009625

Then I was able to uninstall Java normally. After a reboot, I was able to successfully install Shot Works Pro and Steam.

Ummm, I'm not really sure how to explain what it is. It's where you get games like Halflife and all the Halflife mods like Day of Defeat, CounterStrike, Portal, etc. They've been advertising the bejesus out of Portal 2, so I thought I'd check out the original.

I'm not sure, but Steam basically started the whole concept of playing first person shooter games online. As far as I know anyway. I've never been much of a gamer.
