Insulation?

I need insulation done in my attic. We still have the original insulation from 1974, so its horrible. Not to mention, there is no attic ventilation, so installing both will be next winters project.

Thing that sucks the most, is I wanted to lay down insulation over my garage and put plywood on top so I could have a nice storage area. But, of course, the rafters are 24" apart and the only way to get 24" wide rolled insulation is through special order and its way too expensive. So what does anybody do in that situation? They put it off for another year LOL

I've got a 30x48 garage that has needed insulating since build. Cleary insulated the roof, but I was too tightwad to pay them for the whole thing. I'm not doing it....I'll hire it out one of these days.

I would hire somebody if i had to do it over. That's a nice big garage man. I have garage envy.

And in case anyone is interested, my foliage green paracord lanyard turned out great. It's 6 inches long, has a double layer of core, a row of square knots, then a second row of square knots all the way back down it. Wish I had another like 6" though, and I could have made it all the way back to the keyring. Oh well, still looks great!

Time to go tie off the ends and soak it in water to really let it tighten up.

Bogie, I'm still paying $400 a month for it, and owe another 15 grand on it at least. Told the wife she could have the old garage and I insulated that myself. *never again will I do that*

lay it side to side. Shit load of cutting but no extra "special order" fee. OR SPRAY IT IN.
