8 lbs of pistol powder would have me set for quite a long time. What's yalls goto pistol powder if you just chose one? Bullseye seems to be a common powder for versatility.

Exactly. That's what I mean about 8lbs of pistol powder, if I could find a good across the board powder to use, would be ideal. Buy it once and have it for 3-5yrs. The problem then would be maintaining the bullet inventory.

And I've got another 1k 223 bullets ready to load, just need the powder. I have 1lb of powder I could use but was saving that for 308, which I'll get half as many bullets out of.

I really enjoy WST for 40 and that's all I've got. N340 for 9mm too but not really that impressed by it. A friend swears by Unique. True Blue, Blue Dot, 700X, 231, Clays, Universal, and a whole bunch of others are good for 9, 38spl, 40 and 45.

1:9 is already a pretty fast twist in 223. I'm not sure I'd go faster than 1:8 but I don't know enough about the compelling reasons to do so.

Why don't we have a Reloading Whores Thread?

That might be more applicable for a lot of this crap...

What did you do in reloading room might qualify, but those serious reloading guys would punt us if we whored too much.

I don't mean the What did you do in the reloading room thread, I mean a different thread for us hos to congregate, talk about best powders, reloading tactics, etc.

Basically what we've hijacked this thread the past few weeks but in the right forum.
