    Before I go into the theater, i need to know if this movie is trying to right some wrong, teach a lesson, or just plain be entertaining.

    If I'm prepared for the preachiness, I can generally handle it (because I mostly won't go into that movie..)
    Just doing what I can to stay on this side of the dirt.

    I'm the opposite. I won't even consider watching a movie, let alone paying for it, that is only "entertainment." It has to be "good." I just find myself not entertained by the run of the mill summer block buster.

    We used to be avid movie-goers, but the cost of the tickets combined with the cost of concessions and altogether irritating people that act as though nobody else is trying to watch the show...the move better be something we really want to see. We usually wait until it's on DVD.

    I can remember the last two movies I saw in the theater, neither one I wanted to go to. The most recent was Avatar, and I boiled in my seat the whole time at how much I paid for the tickets for such a crappy movie. The one before that was Wanted, and I told my wife I had to be drunk to go see that.
