Glad the service went well for you OBC. Those things can be really rough.

Interestingly enough, when the funeral procession arrived at the cemetery, the rain broke......and resumed when the services had been completed. Maybe she pulled a string or two for us? A friend of the family was there to play the bagpipe, and he did an awesome job. She was of Scottish decent.
Glad everything went well, G'mom is now looking down on you, making sure everything is 10-4.

We are having a big bday bash for my grandma this month, we think her bdays are numbered.

    Feeling for you OBC.

The hardest thing I ever went through was watching my wife's sorrow and grief over her deceased father. It was most hard during his service. Even more so than watching my mother grieve over my father's passing. Not that I didn't in private, but I barely shed a tear the day my pa was put to rest and felt bad for that. However, many circumstances led to that moment and I can't get it back. I cried like a baby when I looked at my wife after she pressed a kiss to her father's urn she carried to the altar. Damn, allergies are kicking in again.

Yeah, the sunshine is gonna be nice once it arrives on Monday. Grass and weeds are gonna go nut ball city. The ex is in for some serious schooling on property maintenance soon.

A lot of us kind of felt that way this afternoon, Hurley...and thank you as well. Please take advantage of the time you still have with your Grandmother before that happens in your Family. I was so fortunate to see her a couple of weeks ago before she passed. So much information and experience, and memories, were lost forever on that day.

Hi Brutal.... What you're speaking of, so represents how I feel and have felt during these types of events in life. Yes *I* hurt already with the experience, but when I see the emotion and pain in others, it kicks my ass every effin time. I don't know how I held it together today, but I assure you that I've shed my tears for her. In fact, I did it right in front of the whole damn family the last time I saw her....while I was looking in her eyes.

    Yeah, tough stuff.

    Thank you, Sir.

Laying people to rest is never easy, even when they weren't your favorite. Was this your first time being a pallbearer OBC? I've gone to more funerals than I'd like to; the worst are those who go before their time. Here's to your grandma having lived a full life and you continuing on with yours. Sorry I didn't comment earlier.

It's cool, Irving...thank you Sir. No, I've been a bearer one other time, for my ex's grandmother.

I can imagine that helping a young person into their resting place could be much more difficult. I've never had to do that.
