Our mortgage went up over $100 a month. Seems like an excessive jump to me. The tax value went up, but I didn't think it went up that much.

The mortgage company is stupid and only projected for one tax payment instead of two. Dummies.

Ouch.
I have what one would normally consider a smart mortgage company (Chase) and they can't seem to get the escrow dialed in each and every year.
I have considered contacting them to see if they would be willing to decouple the escrow. I have great credit, no PMI on a 15 year (refi) mortgage with 10 years remaining, and only owe about 35-40% of the home value depending upon who's numbers you use. I guess anyone can attempt to project taxes and insurance premium changes and do just as well.

Credit Zundfolge: The left only supports two "rights"; Buggery and Infanticide.
Credit roberth: List of things Government does best; 1. Steal your money 2. Steal your time 3. Waste the money they stole from you. 4. Waste your time making you ask permission for things you have a natural right to own. "Anyone that thinks the communists won't turn off your power for being on COAR15 is a fucking moron."
Last year they over projected and cut me a check for $600. I paid significantly more than what the mortgage payment actually was, and last year I felt like that screwed them up and was part of the reason of the big overage. This year, in addition to eliminating my PMI after the escrow amount was set, and paying almost double the mortgage payment, I thought we were going to get another big overage check, but I guess not.

I don't want to hear it... bought at 180.. last appraisal was 295.. house up the street that is smaller and not nearly as nice just sold for 325.. Been in it 5 years now.
I did have to call the county two years in when I noticed they had it as 3 bathrooms... drive by assessment was WAAAAYYY off..
They haven't come close to getting taxes correct.. I just write the check.. I like the payment staying consistent
