    Thanks folks.

Snooker (OBC) is in animal heaven now. FWIW....I believe a long time ago I mentioned his name was that because the game itself if played correctly, gives you another chance. And that's what he got, a second chance....and he lived quality life in a home that loved him.

Just what any animal should have in a home.

Otterbatcat was a nickname that I gave him because of his unique features and behavior when he was young. RIP my friend...you were a cool cat.

Ten years ago. Was on the job three months and had surprise thyroid issues (thyroid storm) that forced me out of work until it was resolved per doctors orders. I decided to go to college instead.

The money was very good though. $7,000 every 3 weeks.

    If you're interested go to

    http:///www.theadjusterschool.com

take their week long course in Houston or Dallas, pass the test, get your Texas All Lines adjuster license. Then start applying for other states. CE required every two years.

Eberls Claims Services is the local adjuster company here. Based out of Lakewood. But there's many others you can get registered as a CAT adjuster (catastrophe) with and be on call.

You'll do hail storms and wind damage claims primarily. When a big Hurricane hits or a tornado outbreak occurs, you'll get deployed. Nebraska and Minnesota during severe storm season is the place to be. I know a lady who made $180,000 in 60 days doing roof damage claims.

You'll need additional training and licenses for Flood, Fire and Earthquake claims. The more licenses you have the more likely you are to be called. Commercial claims (skyscrapers, warehouses, plants) require x-amount of years as a residential adjuster...think it's 5 years.

Primary ins companies you get contracted to are All State, American Family, Farmers and State Farm.

All 1099 work. Unfortunately per diem is no longer allowed to be claimed at the end of the year on your taxes but you can still take per diem on the front end if you wish, just keep in mind it affects your overall Gross Income. But the guys who are good at it and get called are making $300,000 - $400,000 a year.

You need a laptop, portable printer recommended, power inverter, a truck or van, ladder and a few basic tools (measuring tape, angle finder for roof pitch, roofing shoes/boots, and a few other things).

Grab a beer, put AMC on, and watch the Rifleman for a while.
