I see what happened there. I was being very 'Norwegian' & that was mistaken for self deprecation. Thank you for the suggestions & encouragement. Ive never tried lasers specific to practice, what do you mean?

Hey, you said you were terrible and you suck and stuff. Nobody is great at anything when they're first getting used to something, whatever it is.
There are laser targets that that receive laser signals from laser cartridges that you can chamber in your weapon(s). There are several different kinds, but you don't have to have the target, just the cartridge. You can place IDPA targets in your house and shoot laser dots at those, for instance.
