During the riots in the 60's my old man and other NYPD's used wiffle ball bats, filled with lead shot and sand. Here's the wind up, OH Low and INSIDE

You have access to sand ? you're gonna need a lot one the rest of the crew catches on. Remember to fill from the grip end.
