My friend came over with his rifle yesterday when we loaded up some test loads for it. I decided to torque down the scope, it is a Remington 770 30-06 that came iwth a "package" scope. The scope is a joke. It has an eye relief around 1", just a duplex reticle and can't focus for shit.
He has shot it about 60 times already. When we pulled it out of the case and I started looking at the cheapie mounts, I noticed that the front crossbolt was loose. He didn't understand why that was a problem.![]()
Long story even longer, thanks for the video belly! I'll send that over to him to watch and understand a bit. He thinks the scope is perfectly fine for hunting. It doesn't hold zero, and the POI moves about 10-12" during a string of fire, and I'm pretty sure its the scope not him.
Heya BC
Nice video! Seems to me you covered everything, including leveling the scope which is a new trick for me! I always balanced a level on the elevation turret and hoped that was parallel with the reticle. Then I learned the plumb bob method and that was a pain.
Heya OBC
We went through about 130 clays and hit only about 40 of them. Pretty bad if you ask me (strings of 6 with a hand thrower), but to be fair, the guy throwing the clays for me couldn't get them in the same spot or elevation, so they would either shoot 8ft high directly in front of me, or go long and high (which were easy to get). Still some fun stuff!
Been watching Didi videos. My min pin loves carrots too.
Heya Bogie....
Neighbor is over to visit....
You guys reloading?
