Yes, yes it did. Few friends lost every thing. Damn shame. I tried to help where I could but. ..............Well no funds, just my sorry ass with a shovel. But things are better. And moving on with life.

I'm doing pretty good, officially started working on new project (currently transitioning so my time is split) so thats helping the nights go by much faster. Honestly, I'm basically a telescope babysitter and button pushing monkey, which is why I'm glad to get back to hardware. Last night a motor blew out (was probably running all day for some reason) and we spent about 2 hours replacing it. That was fun, except for having to do it out in the cold, wind (35mph) and dark.

    awesome
Your (old) job sounds very similar to mine... Babysitting a system and waiting for it to break, so you can fix the hardware.

Pretty much. New job is letting my mind let loose in a drafting program, coming up with new ways to design systems and having the freedom to do what I want. Not to mention, I'll get to work from home which is pretty sweet!

    I'm really jelly.

My new job is unrelated to my old job, so I'm basically starting from scratch.

Well hey, starting from scratch can be good too!

When my wife left her old job for various reasons and got a new one that was pretty unrelated, she was scared she made the wrong decision, then she started catching on and learning things and now she absolutely loves it!

Yeah, I'm having a hard time reading my new boss... He seems pretty cool and he seems like he's looking out for me, but he might be a bit of a workaholic...
