That is always step number one. There are many other early retirement blogs if that is not your style, but most of them shout out to Mr Money Mustache for providing them the motivation to change their mind set.

So here goes. The wife wants the bathroom shower shower tiled. Generally speaking what the wife wants, the wife gets. She puts out the bat signal that we need someone to do tile and an acquaintances relative volunteers. Guy comes out gives an estimate. Bails on us 6 times in a row. Finally shows up to do the work, over charges her from what he originally estimated. Then tries to make my wife feel bad over the amount that he estimated the work. Does the shittiest tile job I have ever seen in my life. Aaaand skips town. So anyone know a good tile guy? Or does anyone want to help me track down a Mexican guy named José and turn him into a human piñata? Either way I would appreciate it.
Don't know jack about tile but that sucks man.
Tough lesson. Bmac on here is a contractor and says he has a great tile guy. Pretty sure a few members have had work done by him as well.

"I am a conservative. Quite possibly I am on the losing side; often I think so. Yet, out of a curious perversity I had rather lose with Socrates, let us say, than win with Lenin."
