We'll see how they shoot tomorrow.
Having loaded the SX rounds before. I would not have started any lower than 22.5. It's good to get a baseline of how the rifle performs across the board, but the fps of that 21.5gr is something to be desired. Now accuracy wise, who knows it might be the winner.

liberals had nothing to do with this However with the changing demographic of NoCo i will say it wouldn't surprise me if some sensitive homeowner actually called the cops on kids.
In windsor you needed approval to set up an archery area in your yard. And shooting a bb gun was the same penalty as discharging a firearm. Thanks to some twitfuk newspaper editor whose window was shot out by a bb gun vandal.

I don't understand. If the fps of 21.5 is desirable, why would you start so much higher? Just a typo?

The hardest part with those rounds is that they have a flat base, so I have to slowly guide each round into the die by hand, which slows things down considerably. Fine for just getting started, but really wonder how I'll feel about it over the next 900 rounds.

As a side note, I realize that there is a Reloading forum, but until I run into a more serious issue, I figure I won't clutter it up with normal starting woes. I am having trouble with getting consistency with my RCBS trimmer though...

For flat base like the SX's when reloading, it's better to chamfer the case neck to get that bullet seated with minimal issues. For the lower starting powder weight, i say this as someone who was where you are now. Looked at the load data started from low end in .5 increments. After seeing what the performance was at lower compared to mid powder weights. I saw no reason to start at the bottom where across the board better results, accuracy wise were always in mid - higher end. This coming from one who was stressed that i was getting a 0.1-0.2 fluctuation in powder weight when i stated reloading . Forget about OAL issues, too.

BUT... reloading is always about ones comfort level, not what other people due when they reload. You can take everything as a suggestion, nothing more.

Took a kid to figure out that regulation had to go!
Severance, the duck-hunting capital from Bruce's Bar, seemed to get the kid's point, but still made him do a public presentation to the council.
Now, the kid is aiming to be a politician.

    What's on YOUR rifle range?

About half the rounds I loaded turned out like this. It was definitely affecting accuracy. Looks like I'll have to take my die out and see what's going on.
