did anyone short Lumber Liquidators yet?
If you're talking about that white syn stuff. Where it looks like normal fencing, unless it's decorate, don't. We have a syn fence on what we call the front yard, it keeps the pups in, when we have the main fence open. Outside looks and maintenance , it's not something i would sit, or lean on. Then again i grew up, like most of us, where a fence was just there for you to sit on.

Vinyl is okay as long as you aren't in a heavy hail area. With respect to insurance, fences are covered ACV for a full replacement (corner to corner of a run), and RCV for repairs. Wood fences are given a lifespan of only 12 years, so you can imagine that most wood fences are depreciated down to about nothing on a replacement with no replacement cost recovery possible. A vinyl fences is given a useful life of 150 years, so the depreciation on repairs is generally minimal.
Like Master James said, vinyl is purely decorative.
Out here, wood rots quite rapidly. Hail isn't an issue. UV isn't as much of an issue either.

Do you want it for decorative, of function?
Steel pipe fencing . Which is popular down here. basically 2" oilfield type steel tubing, for uprights and top rail. With a cattle fencing type used as the actual fence.
here's a link showing the fencing, to give you an idea what it looks like. Maybe later today i'll see about getting a picture of our fence. Unfortunately no options are cheap. But some have a longer life expectancy than others. With the steel pipe, and drier conditions down here. It will probably last another 20-30 years. And the most popular fencing in use.
Yes the syn is nice and aesthetically pleasing to look at. But as a real fence, eh my dog could break thru it if they wanted to.

We have chain link now. Problem is that the dog can see through it. He doesn't like the neighbor.
