I have heard that they are a lot better than the GSG plus they have full Hk markings on them. For the price of one, you might want to look into the Hk 416, 22lr version of their AR platform.

I also was looking for one, because I'v heard horror stories about the GSG. 5280 armory has one for ya.. Looked at it yesterday. It's a lot heavier then the GSG and feels more sturdy!

A buddy has the pistol version. Every time we shoot it every mag gets a FTF, or a FTE. May be the ammo. But I'v read that after a few hundread rounds the screws shake loose. And you need the "screw" mod. That and ATI has good customer service but is swomped by peoples issue's to get help is kinda hard now days.. This is mostly hear say but....

This is an old thread, but figured I'd revive it. I was at LGS and saw the Umarex H&K MP5 22LR. Hate when that happens. Go in for a single purpose and get distracted by other things that "speak to me".

Wasn't a big fan of the retractable stock (pain to get a proper cheek weld on it) but was significantly more solid that the GSG First Anniversary edition I had (even though that one was nice and a lot of fun to shoot)

Swapping the stock to the more traditional MP5 stock appears easy to do.

Anyone kick the tires on these?

I've got one. Solid, well made and reliable. I love it. I agree the collapsible stock isn't the best to shoot with. It looks cool but isn't very functional. I bought the fixed stock for it. Much better. This one is a keeper.

I wouldn't mind picking up one of the "SD" models if I come across a good deal on one.

I have had one for about a year now and I love it. As others have said the cheek weld isn't the greatest, but for a cheap fun plinker I put up with it and it is still dead on accurate. You can get the fixed stock for it for around 75 bucks if it bothers you that much.

They have a nice solid feel compared to the GSG and have a nice heft to them. Nothing really feels cheap except for the stock, but the authentic MP5 retractable stock isn't really any better.

I have many thousands of rounds through it and just wipe down the inside and run a boresnake through it every 1k rounds or so and I have never had any issues with it.
