We have several cast iron pots, griddles and a huge steel omelet pan. They all work great but they need a little care. Soap never touches them and they are dried on the stove immediately to prevent rust.

I've considered the whole TEOTWAWKI scenario and came to the conclusion that only good cast iron cookware will last any length of time.

My wife makes really good things to eat with the cast iron stuff.
Me personally...yup, the hot pocket option.
I picked up a big 'ol griddle at the salvation army today for $4. The hard part is what to cook first on it. Burgers, bacon, pizza? So many choices so little stomach.

Haw haw haw?..
Good thing about cast iron and the little woman..
It's Heavy, so she has to wind up before throwing so you can usually get the hell outa the way before launch.
I have about 10 different cast iron pots, pans and oven. The wife went and bought a new glass top stove and I'm not alowed to use them...![]()

I am a collector of Griswold cast iron, or more of an accumulator of the stuff. I have 20 plus pieces of Griswold cast iron. One can still find Griswold cast iron on Ebay. I have bought and sold the stuff there.
The new Lodge cast iron comes pre-seasoned from the factory. All of my Lodge brand dutch ovens were bought before the factory started pre-seasoning their cast iron.
How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck had gloves and a chainsaw?
