I grew up punk rocker, was never liberal, absolutely have had my art shown. Don't see what is wrong with the "punk rock" places. Most the subculture kids I know get huge shows because they will make it happen on their own. There are small shows all over town that are dedicated to one artist alone. Not any big names, just people that want their work shown bad enough to make it happen. Those punk rock places are all about DIY, and as such a lot of unknowns get pretty big shows because they work it hard and self promote. My two cents.

I do like both of you guys work, thought I would post that separately from my mini rant.
I do like alxone and palepainter's work. I'm glad palepainter's done some album covers. alxone's style could work there or on show poster/t-shirts. I used to wonder about all those cool posters for shows at local venues and you could never buy them. I stole a bunch but if they were posting them everywhere with no way to buy -why not.
The last few shows I've been at there have been less posters out in the open and they've had them for sale at the merch booth. Someone must have figured it out. That might be a way to get your art out there. Originals are expensive but prints can make money and be affordable.
Personally, I really like Joe Petagno, the guy who used to do the designs for Motorhead. I have his designs on a bunch of tees.

alxone, I too believe that the displaying at least one for sale at the gun show idea is good. You'll just have to pay an additional $5 to get a wall table where hanging it will not take up any of your table room. And the gun shows do have all types of people attending them and normally damn few liberals. Last year I had a table at a gun show and the table holder next to me had a painting, don't remember the subject of the painting but he got a LOT of interest in it however, he was just charging what I thought was a LOT of money for it and it was in rather beat up condition. You can get some good exposure at a larger show. Remember, Ya can't sell em if you don't show em.
Why not try hanging up one or more paintings at your table (like Bob said, on the wall behind your table) and do an AUCTION for them? If you don't know what one of your paintings will generate as far as cash goes, you might undersell your work! Set a time that you'll be ending the auction, and have a little slip printed out that has lines for name, phone number and bidding price. Then call the highest bidder. You might value your painting at $100 and someone else might pay $500. You never know!
Alxone, not getting personal, but why did you leave Bawlmer? They have this pretty open art fest about four hours north called Noo Yahk. In the seven years I've been here, Denver has not struck me as much of an artsy place. Outdoorsy yes, artsy no. Not trying to insult anyone here but the local music, theater, and visual arts venues are a bit weak in my opinion.
I could be wrong.
Have you tried a virtual gallery where you could get greater exposure for your work and have people buy or commission pieces on-line?
