    Default Titan Security Doors

In the past few days we have seen a few volatile threads posted with stories of entries into an individual's home without their consent.

We don't have all of the facts as to what happened in those incidents, but we do understand the ramifications that apply to us as upstanding citizens who would vigorously defend their home and family against unidentified intruders.

I began looking for a solution an this is what I have found -a Titan security front door -

    http://www.asllocks.com/steel_security_doors.asp

    Here's a video -

Why do I see this as a solution-

If indeed a no knock entry is attempted, a lawful gun owner will have the time to secure their weapons after they realize that it is indeed a team trying to enter their home. That way they won't get into a firefight.

It will also ensure that burglars won't be able to access your home through that door either.

These systems are in the UK and hopefully there is a US manuf that makes them too.

I think that having a speak easy door in the door would be an added plus, as the homeowner would be able to speak directly with any visitor without opening the door.

Door is a good first step, but then you have windows, and beyond that the actual walls that can be attacked. I'd like to have insulated concrete foam construction for the walls. No idea on what a good secure window solution is. Going to be expensive build out.

The way I look at it is like this-

If for some reason a misdirected group decides that they are going to take down my door, I'll have ample warning of their failure as they decide what to do.

Also, no bad guys are gonna get past it without hitting it with a vehicle.

Either way, my family and I are safe.

I will open the door under my terms.

Contact Dennis @ Fantasy in Iron. I don't know if he still does windows and doors as his ventures have him mfg MC products, but it's worth a call. Tell him Jim from up north, who use to work with Greg sent you.

Instead of spending a lot of cash on a Titan style door try this. Locate a complete steel entry fire rated door.
    here's one company

Any door is only as strong or weak as the frame. I see folks spending lots of money on dead bolts etc. However the actual locking part of it only goes in to the frame maybe 1/2'. And that is in to a wooden frame.

A steel cage around your entry way would be a good solution and is already popular. Basically just like an air lock, that is framed like a steel cage, then dry walled over so it doesn't look like what it really is.

I think I'd rather have a serious door.

Unless you have serious windows to go with the door, you're screwed. I can't tell you how many homes i have looked at, that have what the client thinks is a strong front door. While i compliment them on the door, i ask, what's to stop me from throwing a lawn chair through the sliding glass door out back?.

    Default bunker

Serious bunker underground with hidden escape route...you got to protect yourself from the gov anymore. I did not vote for Obozo...

The door is not going to stop them from immediatley hurting you and your family, they will find another way in!
