    Default I need sight help

I have an A2 upper. My rear sight was installed in the bottomed out position and I want to correct this without completely messing up my zero.

I have a 20" barrel with roughly 20-1/4" between the front and rear sights. There are 25 clicks in one complete revolution of the elevation nob on my rear sight, which takes it from 300 yds. to 800 yds. How many MOA per click up in the rear sight is there?

Also, my front sight has 4 clicks per 1 complete revolution. This means 1 click = 1.2 MOA. No?

So, what I want to do is raise my rear sight up at least 4 clicks and then raise the front sight all while maintaining the zero I currently have.

    Thanks for your help.

"The M16A2 rifle was issued with sights that moved 1/2 MOA per click for windage and 1 MOA per click for elevation on the rear sight, but the front sight moves 1-1/4 MOA per click"

I use the below method and in includes re-indexing the rear drum to allow for some play below the zero. I set up on the a2 with a zero (and the flat of the drum) at 200yds and have 4 clicks to go down if needed (my 100yd is -3).

Thanks for your reply. It confirms the changes I made. I came up 6 clicks in the rear and 5 clicks in the front which maintains my 25m-350m zero. One click down should make for a 300m far zero, 2 more clicks down for 200m and 2 more clicks down for 100m leaving me a 1 click buffer zone. I just need to get out and verify it now. Thanks for the link to the RIBZ. I've seen it before and was going for that set up.
