    Could be the main control switch crapped out, it happens. Washers and dryers are surprisingly easy to work on, and there's several appliance parts houses in the metro area. Get the make & model number, & serial number, and get on the phone.

    There is an appliance forum somewhere I found through google, make and model, and some other posts told me what was wrong with our dryer, $20 in parts and my time to clean it all up - runs like new.

    Jensens Appliance at Kipling and 44th in Wheatridge had the parts for mine.

    As stated above, most are easy to work on and many are the same except for the name tag on the front.

    Whirlpool makes most of them anymore. They bought up everyone else.
