Default AR Lower Parts Kit Quality

Who makes a decent AR15 lower parts kit? I was thinking of buying a DPMS kit. Are theer any kits that should be avoided like the plauge? Are there any that are just the cats meow?

    TIA

I just used a DPMS kit and one from Bushmaster, both seemed really good but next-time I will pick Bushmaster again. The trigger pins were tighter and the springs just felt better.JMO

Don't know about parts kits, but my RRA gun is solid.
    Real happy with it.

I have used Bushy, RRA, And J and T lower parts kits.

Not alot of Difference between RRA and Bushy. All seem to fit and function exactly the same. I would consider these of equal quality. Good quality no problems. Both used in RRA lowers.

J and T, They say are mil-spec. I have used this on a RRA lower. The front take down pin on one of the lowers I built using these kits was tight. I had to take some cheese cloth to it to make it function properly. The safety selectors on both kits are longer than RRA and Bushies causing them to stick out a little further from the reciever. Not a real problem at all, just something I noticed. Function is fine. I would use these kits again if I were building another plinker.

I have never used a DPMS kit, But from looking at them and looking only no side by side comparison, They seem to be of the same quality of J&T.

Hope that helps. Let me know if you need anything else.

I've been happy with RRA and CMT/Stag.

I used a couple of CMT/Stag kits last year and were real happy with them. So happy I'll be buying a couple more in the near future.

Here are lower parts kits I've used with out any real problems:
    Bushy
    DPMS
    RRA
    J&T
    J&S
    FN
    Colt
    Olympic
    Model 1 Sales
    M&A parts
    Eagle Firearms
    Stag

There are very small differences with some.....like a take down din detent being a little long and really tough to install in the front take down. I have had a trigger pin or take down pin a little too big in diameter....but never too small. I have never got any plastic parts from anybody.

There are definately a few more manufacture's of parts when you closely inspect them, not just like the 2-3 companies that make the reciever forgings. I wouln't say one is better or worse, all can use some tuning; just not slapping parts into a reciever.

My general choice if who ever has the best deal is who I purchase...I don't worry about brand....they probably and most likely have nothing to do with the quality of parts they are selling anyway.....except Olympic who rolls their own.
I say lets all remove the warning labels and let nature take its course.
