Man that mud looks miserable, but the shooting looked fun. Those rows of poppers was very cool.

Throwing your fresh mag in the mud. Is that a new technique?

Your run on Stage 5 more than made up for the little hiccup on Stage 1. You shot a solid match.

Hoser> I know it's hard to believe but, the amount of mud that you saw on Doc's video is nothing compared with how bad it was the following day. I had a few folks of the stage I was RO'ing (Stage 3) that "lost" mags in the mud.

I was careful not to trample anyone's mags but there were a few casualties. It happened to those who would drop the mag and stepped on them as they made their way to their next shooting position. It was painful to watch!

On the First stage we started, I was worried about losing a mag, so I ended up doing mag retention. I watch the vid afterwards and realize how much time was lost because of it, so I gritted down the next few stages and just hope I can find all my mags afterwards.

I just retained all mags until things dried up more that afternoon. The buckets of water weren't that much cleaner the the mud on the ground.

That was my last stage too. The moment I dropped the magazine in the mud was the moment I knew I lost about 50% of the match points on that 300+ point stage . I really needed that mag to finish the stage, so I had to do what I had to do and pick it up. I was actually amazed that the mag still fed rounds and let me still fire, but since it was caked with mud, it wouldn't eject when I hit the mag release. So I ended up locking the pistol slide back took two fingers and drove the mag out from the top side.

Well, you did about as well as you could under the muddy circumstances. You're better than most on steel and it really came through on those popper arrays. Not sure I could have shot it any better, and to tell the truth kinda glad I sat out the mud fest. Now if they had thrown in a few bikini girls as a side show, It'd been worth the drive.
