Taking the family on the Amtrak train from Denver to Glenwood in July. Haven't really read too much on it yet but can you carry concealed on a train or are they like airports with security?
Thanks

The short answer is "No."
Amtrak has a published list of items they do not allow as carry-on, and firearms are on that list.

You don't even want to have one in your carry on luggage. They do have Railroad Police boarding trains sometimes with dogs, to check on possible drug movements.
Yeah, railroads operate under different rules than everyone else, and offenses are Federal crimes. Guns on RR property are strictly verboten. They can even crucify hunters walking along the right of way carrying hunting guns, if they want to. Don't risk it, ain't worth it.
Yeah, after having worked for a RR for about 34 years, I well know that they really "frown" on trespassers on their property. Now especially with the serious terrorism threat, they are much more alert for people walking around on their right of way both with or without firearms.![]()
