    Default Anyone Belongs??

Even though I live in Denver it would be worth the cost and drive time to join the the WHISTLING PINES Gun Club in the Springs area. Any members of this site belong, what is the culture of the place, any other observations???

    Thanks In Advance

My wife and I were shooting there tonight. Another couple had their 8 or 9 year old daughter there, and all three were shooting. The owner decided it was a good time for him to grab a lane and do some shooting tonight also. Friendly helpful staff, never had any issues.

I was a member there when I lived in the Springs. The staff was very nice and helpful, and prices in the shop were decent. Only gave it up because I moved out of the area.

I am a member there. I don't shoot there very often since I live about 45 miles away, but I liked the idea of having an indoor range to take my Basic Pistol students to shoot. I have nothing but good things to say about the place. It is well kept, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and their prices are reasonable. They are very observant of people on the range, and if they see someone do something that violates the rules or is unsafe, they are right there to "chat" with the person.

When I bought my membership, I bought it from a guy on Craigslist which saved me about $75. Keep in mind that there is a $50 transfer fee if you buy it from another person, so make sure that is part of your negotiations.

The only thing that the range doesn't have that I need is a place to shoot rifles from the sitting and prone positions... You can shoot rifles standing at the line, but I need more than that.

Good luck with whatever you decide. I am very happy with the place.

Good gun club. Friendly and family oriented. I shoot there almost every week. They allow almost any rifle just no AP ammo.
