    Default Lost my certificate...

Hey guys, I'm not sure what to do, and who to go to with this problem. Hope someone can guide me in the right direction...

I recently moved, and in the move I lost my folder that contained all the information from the gun safety class I took. My certificate, the business card, and all my booklets. I can't get a hold of the instructor, Kevin Johnson. I can't register to get my concealed weapons permit now. Is there anything I can do to prove that I did take the course?

Thanks in advance for any help...

If the instructor is NRA certified you may see if they have any recourse. Not sure if an instructor has to submit records to them or not however.
Otherwise I would say you are pretty much hosed.

This time around, just find a certified but cheap instructor that does a class for 50-75. I've seen a few orientated towards those that already know pretty much all they need but just need a class since their military is too far out of date or whatever. If you are south side of Denver I can see if I can find the info for the guy I took it from. Basically just goes over CO state laws, some of the obvious dum dum stuff, and shows some concealed carry holster options.

    Default Maybe I can help...

If you would like, PM me and we can discuss getting you a new cert for a good price on the class. I'm not in the business of hosing people on cost or quality instruction, but I understand your situation and would be glad to help if possible. Take care.

Not to undercut anyone here, but maybe he has another course listed here: http://nrainstructors.org/searchcourse.aspx Keep in mind, the cert isn't free for the instructor.

Thanks for the input guys. I don't mind paying for the certificate, I just don't want to have to sit through another class of stuff I already know or did. I'll pm you scott. Thanks for all the help...

Another cheap option is to go shoot a competition. I really didn't want to sit through another NRA class since I lost my certificate in my last move, so I read the requirements and turned in some USPSA results. I did have to email the sheriff here because no one at the office would take it, but after that I had my permit in about 2 weeks.

definitely an option, but you will need to be classified in at least one division in order for that to count. And that will take at min 4 classifier scores with USPSA

He should have made a copy, as i do for instances like this. It's been more than 2X students have OOPS lost their paperwork.

We don't have that kinda storage and the student is told prior to leaving that we don't retain a copy.
